We're still realizing solid fuel-economy -- mid-20s to low 30s -- and the car is among the most comfortable road-trippers we've spent serious seat time in. Ian Callum stars in this video to the left - a preview of the forthcoming Jaguar XJ set to make its debut on July 9th this year. In his words: "The car is very modern, and it certainly meets up the expectations of people who understand design with a capital D, I have no doubt about that whatsoever." Callum goes on to describe the new XJ as a "very well crafted car," stating that it is "also a very designer led car". He asserts that the lines of the car have been reinterpreted in a different way "that actually is right and correct for the 21st century.

Honoring its 2009 Frankfurt motor show pledge to offer EV's by 2012, Renault has announced the Fluence Z.E., which will soon be offered alongside its conventionally-powered sibling. In making its transition to EV, the Fluence has undergone several changes; the most obvious being the battery pack which dictated an increase in the car's overall length. The extended rear quarter panels, which equate to the 130mm growth, add a sizeable visual weight to the rear of the car.
