2015 Corvette Stingray will get an eight-speed automatic transmission

Tue, 08 Apr 2014

2015 Corvette Stingray buyers will have a new transmission option when they head to dealer lots next year: An eight-speed automatic that will supposedly weight less than the six-speed it replaces and boasting quicker shift times than the dual-clutch in the Porsche 911. Named the 8L90, this eight-speed will be built in Ohio and will also be found on the upcoming Corvette Z06. If the gearbox is capable of handling the 625 hp put down by that supercharged beast, we're sure it'll take on the regular Stingray's 455 hp without breaking a sweat.

Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge would get over 500bhp

Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge would get over 500bhp The Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge Concept was actually revealed in photos by Infiniti 10 days ago, but now it’s had a proper Detroit reveal and, although just a concept, it offers promise. Yes, the Q50 Eau Rouge is about Infiniti cashing some of the kudos they get from sponsoring Red Bull, so we get lots about the Q50 being inspired by F1, F 1 flappy paddles, F1 aerodynamics… But the fact is that the Q50 Eau Rouge does look promising and Infiniti has made a decent fist of adding go faster bits and bobs – including carbon fibre, inside and out – without making the Q50 look silly. But what’s most interesting is that the Q50 Eau Rouge perhaps has the potential to tackle cars like the Mercedes E63 and the BMW M5 if, and it’s still an if, it goes in to production.

2015 Suzuki Vitara revealed – the Vitara returns!

Wed, 27 Aug 2014

The new Suzuki Vitara – debuts at the Paris Motor Show When the Suzuki  iV-4 Concept was revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year, in the spring, we knew it previewed a new model from Suzuki rather than a replacement for a model in its current range. But what we didn’t know is that Suzuki would revive a familiar badge for the production version of the  iV-4 Concept, but they have with the arrival of the new 2015 Suzuki Vitara. The new Vitara isn’t too far off the  iV-4 Concept in looks – just a bit more ‘production and a bit less ‘Concept’ – and will come with front-wheel-drive as standard, but you will be able to spec a new Vitara up with Suzuki’s ALLGRIP 4WD and a selection of engines offering ‘outstanding’ fuel economy.
