This is a 235 hp Wright R760-8 engine which is a part of Dan Murray’s estate.  Dan was well known in the vintage aviation community as a meticulous craftsman and antique aircraft restorer who had begun to overhaul this engine before he was tragically killed last March.  The crankshaft was checked for run out, and both it & the master/link rod assembly have been cleaned and magnaflux inspected. The carburetor, magnetos, and oil pump are overhauled.  All the other parts have been solvent washed and are ready for inspection and overhaul.

The engine is packaged in a wooden crate and is ready for shipment.  We can offer the successful high bidder our shipping discount (87% off list).  If you have questions call Caleb at 405-433-2263.  See our other listings for more vintage aircraft engines and parts.  Thanks for looking!

We get the main-man again this time – Ian Callum, Design Boss – which illustrates just how important the interior of the new Jaguar XJ is going to be. We said the other day that the Driving Dynamics would make or break the new XJ, but this will too.

Mercedes fixes diesel injector problems

Thu, 11 Oct 2012

Mercedes say that a new injector system for C Class and E Class diesels with the OM651 engine have now been fixed. So extensive was the problem that many owners were waiting months for their cars to be fixed as Mercedes struggled with a mounting pile of broken cars and injectors that were failing. Mercedes tell us that the problem was fixed with the release of new injectors later in 2010, but Cars UK readers have continued to complain about their cars needing multiple visits to dealers with injectors failing multiple times (that original story garnered more than 500 comments from disgruntled Mercedes owners).
