Toyota Prius points the way to design future

For a glimpse of Toyota's future design trends, check out the Prius. The third generation, debuting Monday in Japan, stays true to the line's role as a vanguard of futuristic styling and sports many new elements that will be popping up soon in other models. Chief among these are the sharply creased corners, the forward placement of the Toyota badge, a lowered grille and styling that Toyota's global design chief Wahei Hirai calls "free-form geometrics." The goal was to create an avant-garde, high-tech look that also screams green.

The Limited Edition Peugeot RCZ at Frankfurt The 200 number is in celebration of the 200th anniversary of Peugeot being established as a trading entity (a manufacturing company then – but not of cars, unless we’ve got our history in a muddle) and can be ordered at the show or on Peugeot’s web site. The Limited Edition RCZ will come in Pearlescent White with a carbon fibre double-bubble roof. A set of black 19″ alloys housed inside smoked-chrome rimmed wheel arches and a six speed manual ‘box mated to the 156bhp 1.6 litre petrol engine ar part of the package.

Asda sparks new fuel price cuts

SUPERMARKET Asda has sparked a likely petrol price war by announcing further cuts. Asda said that drivers filling up at its forecourts from tomorrow (Wednesday) will pay no more than 126.7p a litre for petrol, with diesel priced at 133.7p. Jeremy Walton, head of petrol trading at Asda, said: "Our shoppers don't have to figure out complicated deals and collect vouchers to get the best price; they simply pay what they see at the pump.
