Condition:Used

Bronze tiller fitting and oak handle removed from 30 ft 1936 Kings Cruiser in 1976 and stored since. Curved handle with ball on end. About 43" from center of rudder post to end of handle. Rudderpost shaft fitting tapers from 1 1/4" to 1 1/8" in about 1 3/4" of fitting and has two opposite keyways, one is 1/4" and the other is 1/8"
The fitting has no markings I can see but all other deck fittings were by Merriman and I believe this is also.
Three 3/8 " mounting holes in handle and fitting has shallow bevel head holes on starboard and 3/8" fine thread holes opposite in the fitting but the threads on the center one (with the bolt) are stripped.
Handle has some checks and wack marks but none significant and little by way of stain marks in the oak.
Overall considering it's age, it's in good shape and I wouldn't hesitate to clean it up & sail it, but not offshore.
