This is a complete, NOS vintage Mallory distributor two piece cap assembly, Mallory # 4002. This NOS distributor cap fits vintage YC and ZC Mallory 6 cylinder distributors and has never been installed. The brown bakolite cap has "M. Mallory" raised in the top and the Mallory "M" raised on the underside of the top and the Mallory part # 24008. The seal has the Mallory "M" and "V-24009" raised in the underside of the rubber. The cap base has the Mallory "M" and the Mallory part # 24007" raised in the underside and includes the center spring loaded carbon. This cap is in the original Mallory box bottom but the box top is missing. Perfect for replacing a missing, damaged or worn 6 cylinder cap with an NOS Mallory original. But instead it’s going to be a limited edition special. That probably makes sense with Volvo busy updating their entire range, but it does mean there will be just 750 cars built, of which 175 are earmarked for the UK – the biggest allocation of any market.
