Ford engine plant builds number 10 million

Ford's 90-degree, overhead-cam Modular V8 has covered a wide spectrum since it was introduced in 1991--powering luxury cars, SUVs, pickups and high-performance sports cars. A large number of those engines have come from a Ford plant in Romeo, Mich., which has now built its 10-millionth engine--a 4.6-liter V8 that is headed for a 2010 Mustang GT. The Romeo engine plant was converted from a tractor factory.

German tuning firm BRABUS has revealed the new Mercedes E 63 AMG-based BRABUS 850 6.0 Biturbo estate… which (as suggested by its name), at 850hp, takes the title of world’s most powerful road-legal estate car. The monster Merc dutifully delivers some monster performance figures – indeed, the firm’s actually had to electronically restrict its top speed to 186mph in order to protect the tyres – it would otherwise shoot way, way beyond the 200mph mark. 1924 Le Mans-winning Bentley to go on show

A 90-YEAR-OLD Le Mans-winning Bentley is to go on display in Paris next week as part of the prestigious Rétromobile exhibition. The car, which won the 1924 Le Mans race with John Duff and Frank Clement behind the wheel, is to be Bentley’s headline act at this year’s show. It was picked as a celebration of the rejuvenation of Bentley’s racing programme, with the Continental GT3 racer this year competing in races at Silverstone in Northamptonshire, Italy’s famous Monza and the cutting edge Paul Ricard circuit in southern France.
