The new Infiniti DX is to be built in Europe by Magna Steyr It’s reported that Canadian-Austrian specialists Magna Steyr will build the new Infiniti DX Etherea from Mercedes A-Class components. It looks like the plans by Infiniti to build a production model of the Etherea Concept from this year’s Geneva Motor Show are pushing ahead, with reports that Magna Steyr – the Canadian Austrian specialist car builders – tasked with putting together what we expect to be the Infiniti DX. The DX is Infiniti’s big gun in its aim to take 10 per cent of global luxury car sales by 2016.

Felix Kilbertus has been appointed Fiat's chief exterior designer. Kilbertus' move sees him cross Turin, from his previous position as a lead designer at Pininfarina, to Centro Stile. In his new role he is responsible for the exterior design of Fiat-branded passenger vehicles.

By Ben Barry Motor Shows 02 October 2008 16:03 The new X1 and 7-series were the stars of BMW’s Paris stand, but there were plenty more treats for showgoers, including the subtly revised 3-series saloon and Touring – the Efficient Dynamics-fettled 3 now boasting the lowest carbon emissions in its class. The X1 is BMW’s smallest off-roader, sitting below X5 and X3 – and, let’s not forget, above the soon-to-be-production-ready Mini Crossover Concept. In the metal it doesn’t actually look much smaller than the X3, but it does look a hell of a lot lower.
