Sat, 12 Oct 2013Audi TTS Limited Edition marks 500,000 TT sales In some ways the Audi TT seems to have been around for ever, although it was actually launched in 1998 and garnered fame as a bit of a softy aimed at hairdressers and others who valued cosmetics over ability. But the latest Audi TT is a much better car and does offer real performance and real driving fun, especially if you opt for the TT RS. In the fifteen years since the TT launched, Audi has managed to flog 500,000, and to celebrate we’re treated to a new TT limited edition – the Audi TTS Limited Edition – which comes with cosmetic tweaks and as a coupe or roadster.
Electric Ford Focus starts European production
Thu, 13 Jun 2013The Electric Ford Focus (pictured) is now being built in Europe The electric Ford Focus is already in production, and on sale, in the USA, and now it’s gone in to production in Germany ahead of arriving with owners in July. So far, the Focus EV hasn’t been an overwhelming success in the US, with just over 700 sold in the first five months of 2013 but, even though Ford see the EV as a niche product, they’re still hoping to make a dent in sales of the Nissan LEAF in Europe. The Focus EV comes with an electric motor producing 143bhp and powered by a bank of lithium-ion batteries.
2014 Lexus RC Coupe revealed
Mon, 04 Nov 2013The new Lexus RC Coupe (pictured) debuts at the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show It was back in July that the new Lexus RC Coupe was confirmed for a debut at this year’s Tokyo Motor show and now, with Tokyo just a few weeks away, Lexus has revealed the RC Coupe. The RC Coupe gets an evolution of the Lexus design language – more akin to its recent concept models than production cars – with a heavily contoured shape and the big Lexus spindle grill and lights that look like they’ve taken their inspiration from the LF-LC Concept. There’s also a choice of 18″ and optional 19″ alloys, with the 18″ looking butch and the 19″ elegant.
