Concept Car of the Week: Alfa Romeo BAT 7
Fri, 31 Aug 2012This week sees the Concept of the Week title go to Alfa Romeo and Bertone for their collaboration on the Alfa Romeo BAT 7, the second addition to the BAT series that began in 1953 and finished in 1955. First seen at the 1954 Turin motor show, this wildly futuristic ‘dream' car came about after Alfa Romeo contacted Giuseppe "Nuccio" Bertone of the Bertone carrozeria to commission three concepts with the lowest possible drag coefficient. The cars were named BAT for "Berlinetta Aerodinamica Tecnica." Built upon the Alfa Romeo 1900 chassis, the BAT cars featured large rear bumpers and curved fins, and the concepts achieved a drag coefficient of just 0.19 - an impressive result.

Fri, 11 Sep 2009The second and third episodes of MINI's Two Untamed video teasers This looks like the same twins MINI used in the first MINI video teaser – - only this time they are less dressed – down to black bikinis. Theme is the same – two different aspects of the same. It would also seem that MINI are suggesting that one is wilder than the other, as in the first video.
Pothole disaster imminent, say campaigners
Mon, 13 Jan 2014THE UK’S recent tempestuous weather is set to create the worst pothole catastrophe the country has ever seen, according to campaigners. Freezing conditions are being forecast for the end of January, and road condition campaign website potholes.co.uk is predicting a ‘perfect storm’ of potholes if the forecasts prove correct. With the Met Office confirming that southern England received double the average amount of rainfall during December, persistent heavy rain and floods have created the basis for a disastrous season of crumbling roads.
