European Grand Prix (2011) RESULT
Sun, 26 Jun 2011European Grand Prix 2011 - Vettel back on pole It’s probably as big a shift in weather and conditions as we’ve had this F1 season, from the deluge of the island track in Canada to the searing heat of a Valencian Summer for the 2011 European Grand Prix, but was that enough to see Vettel recover from the defeat he suffered in Canada at the hands of a quite simply brilliant Jenson Button? Well, yes, it was. Just as he was in 2010, Vettel was on pole in Valencia and back on unrelenting form, leading as if by right from beginning to end; controlling the gap to the cars behind as if by divine intervention.
Leaf Powers Ahead As Europe's Best-Selling Car Vehicle
Thu, 13 Feb 2014THE NUMBERS are in and, while recent months have seen a flurry of new electric car launches, one car reigns supreme in this emerging sector. With a record-breaking 2013 behind it, Nissan’s Leaf topped the charts in Europe with 11,120 sales – a massive 204 percent rise compared to 2012. Furthermore Nissan is keen to point out that the Leaf is head and shoulders above its nearest rivals, achieving 25 percent more sales than its closest competitor.
Top Gear: TomTom SatNavs voiced by Jeremy Clarkson pulled
Thu, 13 Oct 2011Clarkson's voiceover for TomTom SatNav cancelled It seemed like a cracking plan for all concerned to get Jeremy Clarkson to add a voiceover for a TomTom SatNav, particularly with the Top Gear live show rapidly approaching and a million children starting to wonder what on earth they can get dad for Christmas. But it looks like someone has dropped a big clanger as it’s been revealed that getting Jezza to attach his voice – and name – to a TomTom SatNav breaches the BBC’s editorial guidelines. As a non-commercial organisation (although that’s extremely debatable when it comes to BBC Worldwide) the Beeb has to make sure it’s not seen to be promoting any particular products and, more importantly, that its on-air talent aren’t entering in to commercial agreements for products they are associated with.
