Sat, 30 Jul 20112012 BMW 1-Series - Full UK Prices & Details Back in June we got the official reveal of the 2012 BMW 1-Series ahead of a launch at Frankfurt. Which did seem a bit early, but as we’d published a whole heap of leaked photos of the new 1-Series just the day before perhaps BMW’s hand was forced? Still, it appears BMW’s plans were always to get the detail out on the 1-Series out well ahead of Frankfurt, because the 2012 BMW 1-Series is going to turn up in a showroom near you as soon as the cleaners hit the floor to wrap up the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.
McLaren plan to make windscreen wipers obsolete
Sun, 15 Dec 2013McLaren plan to make windscreen wipers obsolete Much of the ‘clunkiness’ in cars – stuff like wind-up windows and a cranking handle – have been made obsolete in cars as technology arrived to make things work better, but one thing that remains on modern cars from the dawn of the motoring age is the windscreen wiper. Invented by Mary Anderson in 1903 after she realised drivers of the first motor cars were having to lean out of the window in rainy conditions to see where they were going, it became a standard fitting on all cars within a few years. Windscreen wipers have certainly improved over the years as technology has developed, but they’re still basically a strip of rubber moving across the windscreen to clear rain.
Infiniti Essence unveiled at the Geneva motor show 2009
Tue, 03 Mar 2009By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 03 March 2009 11:38 This is the Infiniti Essence, a petrol-electric rear-wheel-drive coupe with 592bhp. It’s a concept, built to celebrate Infiniti’s 20th anniversary, but also to preview the company’s future design themes and environmentally friendly technologies, both of which will be essential if the badge is to conquer the UK market later this year. It’s not, but the petrol-electric drivetrain is a glimpse of Infiniti’s future power units.
