GMC Granite concept (w/ Video)

The biggest surprise at the 2010 NAIAS was GMC's Granite concept - a design that expands (or rather contracts) the truck/crossover brand's 'professional grade' philosophy to a compact hatchback aimed at urban hipsters and early adopters. Conceived by Frank Saucedo's Advanced Design team in California and then built at GM's Design Center in Detroit, the Granite combines the basic proportions of the Nissan Cube and Scion xB with a military/industrial feel inspired by the current G-Star and Diesel fashion lines. Renderings hint at 2015 Ford Mustang appearance

We're still waiting to see what the 2015 Ford Mustang will look like. Spy shots only offer glimpses of undisguised sheetmetal between pieces of heavy camouflage, so until the debut, this set of renderings that appeared on Mustang enthusiast forum Mustang6G.com is the next best thing to an official reveal. Mustang6G forum member chazcron is responsible for the images, which are said to have been built from the growing number of Mustang spy shots circulating the Web.

The air runs out of run-flat tires

After settling a lawsuit last month with disgruntled owners of Michelin run-flat tires, Honda dropped the tires for the 2010 model year. It was another disappointment for Michelin and other makers of run-flat tires in a 17-year effort to win customers in the United States. When run-flat tires appeared here in 1992, they were expected to win wide acceptance as original equipment.
