Slimline Hinge  - Constructed of high grade aluminum, the Slimline hinge encapsulates a marine grade stainless steel pin within a reinforced nylon bush for years of trouble free operation.

Slimline Stays  - All slimline hatches, WHC30 and up, come standard with stylish, fully adjustable friction stays allowing the hatch to be quickly and positively locked in any position from 0 to 120 degrees. WHC00, WHC10 and WHC20 hatches are fitted with friction arms.

Unique Acrylic Fitting and Sealing System  - Maxwell hatches incorporate a unique "V" system of fitting the acrylic into the extruded, silver anodized aluminum frame ensuring that the window is secured into the frame with unparalleled strength. The "V" system allows the full 10mm (3/8") thickness of the acrylic to be utilized for extra strength and the seal is further enhanced by a double sealant method guaranteeing a watertight hatch in the harshest conditions. Fri, 08 Nov 2013

Ahead of a Tokyo motor show debut, VW is showing off the Twin-Up concept. Essentially an advanced version of the company's entry-level Up supermini, the Twin-Up runs a modified version of the plug-in diesel-electric hybrid driveline used in the high-tech XL1 for spectacular claimed combined consumption of 214 mpg on the Euro combined cycle along with a zero-emissions electric range of 31 miles. The Twin-Up name alludes to the new car's twin drive sources.

Mazda MX-5 Superlight concept at 2009 Frankfurt motor show

Fri, 11 Sep 2009

By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 11 September 2009 09:30 To celebrate 20 years of the MX-5, Mazda has produced this special Superlight concept which be unveiled at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show next week. Mazda started with the facelifted version of its third-gen sports car and pared it back to basics to create an uncompromising sub-1000kg two-seater sports car. According to project lead designer Hasip Girgin, the challenge was 'to evolve the MX-5, developed to perfection during the last 20 years, to a higher and extreme level.' As such, Mazda seems to be treating the MX-5 Superlight like a portly Caterham, claiming the lack of a windscreen and roof makes the driver and passenger feel more connected with the environment.
