when honda first made the fl250 the earlier models 77-80 had a thinner weaker gear reduction chain, which they updated in late 80 to a heavier stronger chain--this is the heaver stronger chain with no master link with c clip--which is what you are supposed to use-- this chain has 10,500 pounds of tensile strength--much stronger than the original odyssey chains--if you use chain with a master link c clip--you might regret it--and if you use regular motorcycle chain--you will wish you hadnt.
