This book is compiled from a dozen, hard to find aviation books, beginning in 1914, through 1939. We provide the reader with numerous details and useful pictures that accurately show the original covering techiniques. You will see how aircraft were covered using Irish linen, cotton, and dope, prior to WW II. You would have to spend hundreds of dollars to collect all these books in one place. This volume is commercially reproduced and spine bound in a single collection. It is a reproduction of the original material. NOT the original books!
Please read carefully as one poor soul was terribly confused and thought he was buying "the original materials" and then complained and left negative feedback when it was not "the original pages". Selling the original pages would be impossible, seeing that we have had to gather this material from the archives of numerous aviation museums the world over. But there are all kinds of people out there, so we have to explain everything in fine detail for fear of being flammed on Ebay now.

Mon, 16 Jan 2012Jaguar XF 2.2D 163 PS - less powerful XF launched Jaguar has announced a lower powered version of the new XF 2.2 Diesel with 163PS which goes on sale immediately from £29,950. Jaguar finally came clean on its entry-level XF – the Jaguar XF 2.2 diesel – back in March last year, after speculation and denials about a cheaper XF almost since the XF first arrived. But having bitten the bullet on an entry-level XF, Jaguar has now done it in spades by revealing an entry-entry-level XF – the Jaguar XF 2.2D 163PS.

Kahn Design is a relative newcomer in the Land Rover pimping and preening scene compared to Overfinch (whose Evoque 2012 GTS we showed last weekend), but they have a strong following and do a fine job of making stand-out Range Rovers.

Mon, 07 Apr 2008As one judge, Geert Jan Schellekens, Principal Automotive and Industrial Designer at SABIC Innovative Plastics, said; "From several hundred entries to 20 finalists in a day's time - what could have turned out to be a cumbersome process, if not a bureaucratic nightmare, actually became an intensive yet fun session with many intriguing and interesting interpretations of the contest brief - fuelling some lively discussions!" Another strong impression from judges was also of the variety of design entry and the effort that had been put into them, as Dale Harrow said: "I'm very impressed with the standard, and particularly with the diversity of entries to the contest". Derek Buckmaster,Global Market Director, Body Panels & Glazing for SABIC Innovative Plastics, said: "I was surprised by the depth of thought which the entrants had put into their designs to meet the diverse needs of the three 'milenniumites' described in the design brief. The designs displayed numerous approaches to meeting the environmentally-friendly and light-weight goals." All designs were considered relative to the Assessment Criteria a critically important part of the contest, created to ensure as much fairness in the process as possible and detailed in the Contest part of Car Design News.
