Here is the original Ford and Mercury spare tire hold down bracket and stud used first during the early 60's in many models. The most common Ford part number assigned was C3AZ- 17091-A , and it had later numbers as well. Ford and Merc used this bracket on several models through the early 70's.The T-bolt stud was used on models that had a receiving female fitting welded to the floor panel. Other models used this bracket with a more common J hook and large wing nut, the J hook then engaged a loop bracket which was welded to the floor panel.

Very rare parts , they usually were discarded and/or rusted out along the margins of the bracket. This bracket is not yet made as a reproduction.

Volvo C70 Volvo has released pictures of the second-generation C70, to be launched in September at the Frankfurt Motorshow. The new C70 seats four with a two-faced three-stage folding hardtop meaning there will be just one body style: rivals Mercedes CLK and SAAB 9-3 must wait until the next generation before they can claim the same. Designed as a coupe from the outset, the C70 answers the perennial cabriolet problem with an elegant profile, roof up or down.

One Lap of the Web: Scottsdale oddballs, a lost Morris and in-home car washes

Tue, 28 Jan 2014

A man in the UK purchased an old Morris Isis...then forgot about it in the back of his garage for 12 years. When he rediscovered the car and cleared all the trash off, he also learned it was one of the oldest of its kind in the world. While we have a few questions, not the least of which is "how does one forget a car parked in the garage," we're pleased to see that the owner has since restored the car and plans to strap a trailer on the back and take it to the beach later this summer.

Ford improves top design on its 2015 Mustang convertible

Mon, 03 Mar 2014

Ford revealed details on its forthcoming 2015 Mustang convertible, whose top features several highly welcome improvements over the outgoing model’s, making it quieter, more compact and easier to operate. Though Ford continues to call the cloth top a two-layer design, it now sports a 10-mm thick cushion between the twill covering and the headliner layer, serving as both insulation and sound deadening. Ford says with the top up, the cabin is almost as quiet as the coupe’s on the road.
