Hyundai i30 SR – a taste of Sporty Hyundai
Fri, 19 Oct 2012Hyundai in Australia has revealed the Hyundai i30 SR, an i30 with a 2.0 litre petrol engine and a sportier edge. Hyundai in the UK defaults to its diesel engine offerings across almost its entire range, with the Golf challenging i30 offering only a 1.4 litre petrol with a very modest 98bhp apart from the diesel offerings. But Hyundai in Australia marches to its own beat and has rather bigger ambitions for the brand than Hyundai exhibit in most of the rest of the world, with thoughts about a Hyundai ‘Genesis’ luxury brand (although that seems to have come to nought so far) and their very own ‘Sporty’ take for the Hyundai range in the ‘SR’ model.
2012 Mercedes A-Class teased on video
Sat, 21 Jan 20122012 Mercedes A-Class teased on video The 2012 Mercedes A-Class is being teased on video ahead of a Geneva 2012 debut in conjunction with a ‘QR Code’ competition. With Detroit pretty much done and dusted, it’s time for car makers to begin teasing their offerings for Geneva 2012 (which we saw some of even before Detroit). Today it’s the turn of Mercedes with a video tease for the 2012 Mercedes A-Class, coupled with a competition too (although that seems to be just for Germany).
Fiat Qubo gets eco:Drive
Tue, 14 Jul 2009the Fiat Qubo is now being fitted with eco:Drive - Fiat's economy driving monitor But as all things ‘Eco’ are the name of the game at the moment (which we’re all in favour of – just don’t use ‘Man-Made Climate Change’ as the reason) Fiat are bolting on their eco:Drive system to the Qubo – but don’t worry it will shove the price up if you’re thinking of getting one – it’s a freebie. The Fiat eco-Drive started out with a launch on the Fiat 500 earlier in the year, and is now available on not just the 500, but the Grand Punto and the Bravo. Basically, it’s a USB stick that you plug in to the car which can then be read by software to tell you how badly you’re driving.
