Infiniti Essence Concept kicks off Pebble Beach

The Infiniti Essence Concept kicked off this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance This year’s event at Pebble Beach has kicked off with a gala dinner and the US debut of the Infiniti Essence Concept that we saw recently at the Geneva Motor Show. Much bigger than you would expect from a Japanese Coupe, the Infiniti Essence is over 15 feet long and features a 3.7 litre V6 turbo coupled with am electric motor, designed to give a whopping 590bhp. The interior of the Essence is much more Japanese than the outside.

From May this year Volvo will update its V40 model, equipping the premium Swedish hatchback with its range of high-efficiency Drive-E engines and Volvo’s latest eight-speed automatic gearbox. This means the revised V40 line-up now offers an impressive performance to efficiency ratio, with 190hp on offer in the D4 turbodiesel variant, returning a claimed 74.3mpg combined with 99g/km CO2 when mated to the six-speed manual. As the name implies, it's borne out of the Evora GTE race programme, which sees Lotus's mid-engined 2+2 compete at races across the globe, culminating in the 24-hour race at Le Mans.
