Classic/vintage 1994 Jaguar Xj6 Vanden Plas: Jade Green/tan/chrome - Low Mileage on 2040-parts.com
Northridge, California, United States
An XJ40 / XJ6 In very good condition. 67.5K miles. Original paint.
Some dings and minor scratches--normal stuff; one dent under the rear bumper on the small lower panel, noticeable when looking at the rear from a distance: Estimates to fix whole body to 'like new', including dent, dings, and scratches, range $1-2K. 1994 is the first XJ model year built with input from Ford Lincoln Motor Co., the last XJ built with design input from Jaguar's co-founder Sir Williams Lyons; the first Jaguar with airbags; the only XJ with no glovebox(!); the last and most reliable XJ40 model year ever built, according to Car and Driver. Appears in a forthcoming Happy Madison feature film (2017). I love driving this car. Drives great . . . The interior, like the exterior, is near perfect, looks great . . .
With just a bit of love this car is showpiece ready, even without a paint job--which is original. All hoses and belts replaced this year. Smog good in CA through early 2017. OEM chrome wheels with black 21-spoke inlays are rare, and basically in 'like-new' condition. There's a CD changer in the trunk, which is huge (the trunk)--twice the capacity of 1995+ XJ models., until 2006. I've loved this car a lot . . . a rare iconic Jaguar Jade Green Metallic; a silvery blue green hazel--even prettier in person. Those stylish square headlamps, like crystals . . . |

McLaren P1 GTR OFFICIALLY previewed – debuts at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance
Fri, 25 Jul 2014The McLaren P1 GTR (pictured) will debut at Pebble Beach 2014 We learnt last month that McLaren had decided to produce a P1 for the track – a la the Ferrari FXX programme – and in the process revive the GTR moniker from the iconic McLaren F1 GTR to create the new McLaren P1 GTR. Now McLaren are previewing the debut of the P1 GTR at next month’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance with a design sketch of the P1 GTR ahead of its real life reveal in California. Following in the giant steps of the F1 GTR – and those of the road-going P1 – will be no easy task, but what’s on offer certainly offers lots of promise.
Electric Kia Soul planned for 2014
Fri, 05 Oct 2012Kia has revealed that they will offer a battery electric version of the next generation Kia Soul when it arrives in 2014. Hyundai may have seen the light and decided the future for cars lies with hydrogen fuel cell cars and not battery electric cars, but sister company Kia thinks differently. It seems an odd polarity for the Korean siblings to take different routes to the future of powertrains for cars, but perhaps it’s just a case of hedging bets rather than an inability by Kia to see how impractical the BEV is as a replacement for a normal ICE car?
Interior Motives China Conference 2010: Day 1
Thu, 22 Apr 2010Despite Europe being grounded due to volcanic ash, the third Interior Motives China conference got underway in Beijing with a record number of delegates and speakers – proof, as if it were needed, that this event is now one of the most important in the global car design calendar. This year's theme was 'New brands and the search for a design identity', and among the audience were young Chinese designers keen to learn more about international car design techniques, as well as veteran western designers hoping to gain a deeper understanding of the market they are creating vehicles for. Session 1: The Market for Design Edward Wong, Director of Transportation Design at China Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA), set the mood for the conference in his long, flowing 'Chang San' robe (very traditional Chinese attire). He opened the conference and invited panellists to share their views on what China's needs are and explore what makes the market so unique.
