Caterpillar CX28 Automatic Transmission Arrangement No. 287-5738 This unit is still brand new and unused and is still on factory shipping pallet. In 2006, Caterpillar started producing CX31 and CX28 automatic transmissions, which can be used in recreational vehicle applications. The CX28 has six forward speeds with horsepower up to 400 and torque up to 1,250 pound-foot. It matches up with the Cat C7 and C9 diesel engines. Outfitted with electronic control module, transmission uses J1939 communications protocol and delivers up to 400 hp and 1,250 lb-ft torque.
