New Saab 9-5 (2010): Tons of detail +video
Sat, 05 Jun 2010The New Saab 9-5 UK The start of 2010 saw a flurry of stories on Saab as the battle lines were drawn to see who would grab control of GM’s troublesome Swede. Eventually – after many false dawns – that fell to Dutch maker of quirky supercars Spyker who – much to the amazement of all – seem to have a very cohesive forward plan for Saab. Forward plans are all very well, but what matters in the short term is making the most of what you already have.
Citroen Survolt – Electric Sports Concept at Geneva
Tue, 02 Mar 2010The Citroen Survolt Concept gets an airing at Geneva Citroen has a long, long history. It’s cars – and it’s designs – have run the gamut from sublime to ridiculous and all points in between.
BMW 1-series M Coupe (2011) teaser video
Tue, 31 Aug 2010BMW is continuing to build up the hype ahead of the launch of its next M car – this is a teaser video giving us our first glimpse of the undisguised BMW 1-series M Coupe What’s new is our first look at this hot 1-series’ butch bodykit, complete with an engorged front bumper and triple air intakes. There are CSL-alike 19-inch wheels too, and sitting between the cross-drilled front discs is a twin-turbo 3.0-litre straight-six, producing 335bhp and 369lb ft. Drive, thankfully, goes to just the rear wheels, and they’ll be a choice of either a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. There’ll be an M diff too, but we hear it might be on the options list as BMW’s money men fight to keep the list price under £40k.
