Volvo C70 Inscription to debut at L.A. Motor Show

We know that the Volvo C70 – Volvo’s four-seat, tin-top convertible – is not long for this world, so perhaps the news that there’s to be a limited edition C70 – the C70 Inscription – bowing in at the LA Motor Show is the C70′s swansong.
Volvo are keen to point out that the C70 was the world’s first four seat convertible with a three piece folding metal roof as standard, which made the C70 a proper all year round convertible; open-topped motoring when the weather permits, and all the joys of a coupe when the skies darken.
The C70 Inscription is to be limited to just 2,000 cars worldwide, and you can grab one of those coming to the UK from £33,855 for the D3 SE Inscription.
You can have the C70 Inscription with either the D3 or D4 engines, which are both 5-pot diesels – the D3 with 148bhp and the D4 with 175bhp – and in a choice of three colours - Black Stone, Black Sapphire and Ice White, with 18″ black Midir alloys.
Apart from the paint job and alloys, the C70 Inscription gets high-gloss paint on the grill with a chrome surround and LED daytime running lights.
Inside there’s more of a titivation for the Inscription, with a leather dash with contrast stitching, black or Calcite leather with contrast stitching, aluminium inlays on the steering wheel and gear knob, sports pedals and a splash or three of ‘Inscription’ logos.
You can stick your order in for the C70 Inscription from mid-November (probably once Volvo have got the LA debut out of the way) with deliveries expected in February 2012.
