The John Scotti Collection is, we'd like to think, exactly the sort of assemblage of cars we would put together were we a mechanic who earned his fortune building a group of successful Montreal-based car dealerships. To be sure, the collection of roughly 450 cars represents Scotti's tastes, which seem to tend toward the muscular. But the man, who sells everything from Mitsubishis to Lamborghinis, did an admirable job branching out from the standbys that seem to fill the ranks of every large collection, finding room for both the commonplace and the strange.

We have the first photos of Volvo’s sporty take on the new V40 – the Volvo V40 R Design – ahead of a debut at the Paris Motor Show. Update: Volvo has now caught up with this story, so we’ve added a few more photos and a video. The V40 R-Design will be available as an option across all the V40′s range of engines but the Sport suspension still remains an option, not standard.

IT’S SEEN off numerous competitors over the past quarter of a century to become the go-to affordable sporting roadster, and now Mazda has launched a special website to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the company's legendary MX-5 sports car. The website offers a glimpse at the history and future of the most popular roadster of all time, including messages from the engineers behind its development. Originally designed in the 1980s, the first MX-5 was unveiled to the world in February 1989 at the Chicago Auto Show.
