Seat unveils electric Altea, Leon plug-in hybrid (2011)

Seat has unveiled a pair of prototype electric cars to underline its commitment to EVs: the Altea XL Electric Ecomotive full electric car and the Leon TwinDrive Ecomotive plug-in hybrid. Martorell has also confirmed plans to build hybrids in 2015 and electric cars from 2016. They'll be designed, developed and manufactured in Spain, as the VW group devolves green car centres of excellence away from Germany.

The C7 was captured by spy shooters in cold-weather testing in the Great White North, and the profile indicates a wedge-like silhouette, curvy, slightly flared fenders and a potentially longer wheelbase. The Lamborghini Urus SUV to be made in SLOVAKIA It could be argued that the appeal of Lamborghini stems from its ‘Italian-ness’, but it seems ‘Made in Italy’ is not an honour Lamborghini are going to bestow on their new Urus SUV. Instead, the plan is to build the Urus alongside other VW Group SUVs at VW’s plant in Bratislava, Slovakia. Autonews is reporting that VW are planning to build the Urus alongside the Porsche Cayenne, Audi Q7, VW Touareg and the bodies for the new Bentley SUV (they were planning to build the Bentley SUV in full in Bratislava too, but now it will be just the body to make sure the Bentley SUV is ‘British’).
