Design Contest: Stile Italiano Giovani 2008

The Association of the Automotive Industry (ANFIA) Italian Car Coachbuilders Group last month announced the results of the ‘Stile Italiano Giovani 2008' design competition. Open to non-professional car designers and design students worldwide, the competition - which began in May 2008 - culminated in a collection of 20 designs selected by a jury composed of representatives from leading Italian coachbuilders. CDN-GM Interactive Design Contest 2013 winners announced

In early December, the finalist entries from the CDN/GM Interactive Design Competition were put in front of the panel of judges from General Motors and Car Design News to determine the four winners of this year's internships with GM. This year, once again, the level of work was exceptional and made for a very difficult selection. We also saw the largest number of participants and entries ever, raising the stakes of an already highly competitive field.

Renault Eolab Concept

Renault has bucked the trend of rather uninspiring Paris Motor Show previews with the Eolab. This B-segment-sized car that has been designed to a brief that states it must return fuel economy of 2l/100km (118mpg US/141mpg UK), and that all of its major technical innovations must be production-feasible by the year 2020. The Eolab is actually two cars – the Eolab prototype, which the engineering team has signed off as capable of 1l/100km (235mpg US/282mpg UK), and the Eolab Concept, which was overseen by the design team.
