Top Gear: TomTom SatNavs voiced by Jeremy Clarkson pulled
Thu, 13 Oct 2011Clarkson's voiceover for TomTom SatNav cancelled It seemed like a cracking plan for all concerned to get Jeremy Clarkson to add a voiceover for a TomTom SatNav, particularly with the Top Gear live show rapidly approaching and a million children starting to wonder what on earth they can get dad for Christmas. But it looks like someone has dropped a big clanger as it’s been revealed that getting Jezza to attach his voice – and name – to a TomTom SatNav breaches the BBC’s editorial guidelines. Honda Accord Tourer (2008): first official pictures
Thu, 24 Jan 2008By Ben Pulman First Official Pictures 24 January 2008 11:05 Honda has released the first pictures and video of the new Accord, but while the photos only offer us a tantalising glimpse, the accompanying short film shows nearly every exterior detail of the new Accord Tourer (nee estate). The Tourer appears to have changed little from the concept that was shown at Frankfurt in 2007. The profile remains the same, and apart from a switch to production lights, wheels, grille, mirrors and door handles the exterior has kept most of the concept’s flavour.
Phone use penalty 'could double'
Wed, 16 Jul 2014THE PENALTY for using a mobile phone while driving could be doubled under proposals being examined by the Government as part of a safety drive, Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin said. Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe has called for offenders to be handed six points on their licence rather than the present three, meaning a ban from getting behind the wheel if caught twice in three years. Mr McLoughlin said it was an "interesting suggestion" that he was considering in an effort to end the "appalling" number of people killed and seriously injured in accidents where a phone was being used in the hand.
