Survey: 1 in 4 drivers break law every day

In a survey of British motorists, 78% of drivers admitted to breaking the law whilst driving – and 27% revealed they do so on a daily basis. The most common offence is speeding, but nearly half of those questioned confessed to using their mobile to phone or text from behind the wheel, and a remarkable 41% said they had driven without wearing a seatbelt. Smart is the latest car manufacturer to present a sub-car commuter vehicle. The eScooter will be shown at the Paris motor show in concept form, but has been confirmed as part of Smart's future urban mobility strategy. Like the Smart ForTwo, the eScooter uses a steel and aluminum frame with interchangeable plastic body finishers.

Kia K9 sedan, camouflaged Sportage spied testing

Kia was doing a bit of vehicle testing around Mammoth Lake, Calif., last weekend, and Autoweek reader Kristoffer Gjevre was there to capture the convoy. His photos show a camouflaged small SUV/ crossover and a completely undisguised K9 sedan backed up by Hyundai Santa Fe and Veloster support vehicles. Based on the roofline and A, B and C pillars, that small crossover appears to be a Kia Sportage -- and the heavy concealment at the front and rear of the vehicle suggest updated fascias may be in the works.
