Ferrari 599 successor to debut at Geneva show

Ferrari has confirmed that the follow-up to the 599 Fiorano will debut at the Geneva motor show next month. The latest in Ferrari's long line of front-engine V12 GT cars, which stretches back to the 166 Inter of 1948, it's rumored to boast in the neighborhood of 700 hp. That's roughly double the power of the 365 GTB/4 pictured above, which Dan Gurney and Brock Yates famously used to cross the country in 35 hours and 54 minutes back in 1971.

Jaguar XE (2016)

The XE is Jaguar's rival to the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and Mercedes C-Class. It's the smallest of Jaguar's sedans, fitting into the range below the XF and XJ. It's the first production model to use Jaguar's aluminum architecture that's intended to reduce weight, yet increase flexibility for both engineers and designers.

This exhibition proves not only a celebration of the Volkswagen icon, but also an opportunity to learn a little more about one of its exhibitors – Volkswagen Brazil's design director Luiz Veiga. Car Design News attended the opening at OMA – located not far from the VW plant – to talk with Veiga about art and design.
