But 48 hours is a long time in a 2012 season of tyres that dictate performance seemingly based on which way the wind’s blowing. So instead of Lotus dominating proceedings we had Mercedes qualifying strongly, with Michael Schumacher taking pole and team mate Nico Rosberg in third.

It’s long been rumoured that BMW has an interest in acquiring De Tomaso to give it a proper supercar brand to rival the offerings from the VW group. 1970 Chevelles fetch top dollar at Barrett-Jackson auction
Wed, 30 Jun 2010The muscle-bound favorite of enthusiasts and boulevard cruisers everywhere, the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle, returned in force at the Barrett-Jackson Orange County Collector Car Auction, June 25-27. The top seller at the event was an SS 454 LS6 convertible, which sold for $253,000. That was closely followed by an SS custom coupe, which went for $250,000.
