This auction is for 2 pair (4 total) Corsa Marine muffler tips, 4" inlets, internal mechanical flappers plus Salisbury-style outlet flappers.  These tips came as a factory option on my Formula 382 FasTech with Merc 525s.  Condition is excellent, will easily polish out to "as new" condition.  These tips are not switchable, they are full-time mufflers that offer little or no power loss on Merc 525s or 600s but will fit any boat with wet exhaust and 4" couplers.  I removed because I went with wilder HP/larger displacement engines (replaced the 525s) and the new engines' larger cam profiles risked water reversion issues with these tips.

New Jaguar XJC – the Coupe

Tue, 14 Jul 2009

Jaguar already has a new Jaguar XJC on the drawing board – a coupe version of the new Jaguar XJ The last Jaguar XJC was in the ’70s, and was built on the SWB version of the Series II Jaguar XJ.  In fact – by the time Jaguar got round to launching the XJC on to the market in 1975 – it was the only XJ that had the SWB, as all XJ saloons had moved over to the LWB as standard. A glorious-looking car – especially in ‘New Avengers’ guise as driven by Steed – it was plagued by the problems that beset British Leyland at the time.

Magna Electronics develops 'Touchskin' concept [w/video]

Tue, 22 May 2012

Electronics firm Magna is working on a new technology it calls 'Touchskin concept' that has the potential to eliminate traditional switches and instruments inside vehicles. As part of its ‘Intelligent Surface Technology', the Touchskin concept is set to be an integral part of a system that allows the user to control the car via intuitive gestures – such as pinching, tapping and swiping – as we've become so familiar with when using smartphones. The potential design implications are easy to see with the large amount of space made available by removing the traditional instrument cluster and its wiring and the removal of wired-in switches and buttons.
