Vintage part from an Evinrude Fleetwin 4447 7.5HP outboard motor.
Brand:Evinrude Country/Region of Manufacture:United States Manufacturer Part Number:4447

This listing is for the lower unit gears from a 1952 Evinrude Fleetwin 4447 7.5HP outboard motor.

The gears have some rust and evidence of age but no broken teeth or evidence of abuse.

The parts come from an Evinrude motor that says 4447-82027 on the manufacturer's tag.

The motor had been stored in a barn for some time and was not seized but would not run.  I removed the spark plugs, put some 2 cycle oil in the cylinder and turned the motor over by hand.  I heard metal on metal in the lower unit so I disassembled it and found there was no lubricant in the lower unit and there was some rust and dirt.

After removing the lower unit, I checked the unit for spark and had none.

Rather than spend the time and money to get the motor running, I decided to disassemble it and sell the parts.

I have many of the parts listed.  If you need something else from a 1952 Evinrude 7.5HP motor, send me a note and I will tell you if I have it.

This item is from a 60+ year old motor and is sold as is.  Please make your buying decision based upon the pictures and ask any questions you may have before bidding.  No returns are accepted on this item.

Thank you for looking.

Beaulieu Sets Its Sights On A World Record Attempt

Mon, 10 Feb 2014

IT MIGHT be best known for its collection of weird, wonderful and historically significant cars, but the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu is now reaching out to anyone with an interest in toy cars. As part of its bid to break the current world record for the longest line of toy cars, Beaulieu is asking for donations in order to topple the current record of 9,795, set in Guatemala last December. The attempt will be held in the grounds of the attraction with a continuous line, one kilometre long, of at least 10,000 cars placed end to end, starting and finishing inside the museum.

2014 BMW M5 facelift leaked – by BMW’s own website

Tue, 14 May 2013

Fortunately, the BMW news specialists at BimmerPost were on the ball and managed to get some screen-grab photos of the new M5 before BMW realised their mistake, so we get to see what BMW has planned for the M5, and probably a guide to what the facelift for the rest of the 5-Series range will offer. The changes aren’t huge, and as far as we can see all that’s going on is a bit of influence from the M6 and 6-Series in general, with a new kidney grill that looks like the 6 Series, and a steering wheel looks like that on the new M6 too, together with the latest iDrive controller. The leaked images don’t tell us what BMW are planning under the bonnet of the facelifted M5, but it’s not too much of a stretch to expect a Competition Package for the M5 to give it similar clout to the new Mercedes E63 AMG S.

Petrol sales hit record low in July

Mon, 01 Sep 2014

FEARS of a 4p-a-litre rise in prices at the pumps sent petrol sales crashing to an all-time July low. The rise turned out to be only 1.5p a litre but it led to July petrol consumption dipping to 1.44 billion litres, down nearly 100 million litres on June, according to Government figures highlighted by the AA. The AA said petrol retailers and others had predicted that the UK's average cost of petrol would rise by up to 4p a litre in July.
