This is a lockout switch for a 1949 or 1950 Ford transmission with the overdrive.   It mechanically "locks out the transmission from going into reverse when the overdrive is engaged.   Book sez the '51s didn't have it so I'm not sure how they prevented the issue.

The wires are still there, marked "to governor" and to "kickdown switch".  These are the old, original wires--you will want to upgrade them.

From Grampa's garage.  He  had lots of old car parts that we found after he died and we are trying to find a home for them.  Hopefully someone can still use them.

This switch tests good in the way that it conducts continuity until the button is pressed when it breaks continuity.

Ford boosts prices 0.4 percent on 2011 models

Ford Motor Co. said it boosted prices an average of $117, or 0.4 percent, on 2011 models effective Friday, April 1. The increase is because of “higher commodity costs,” George Pipas, Ford's chief sales analyst, said Monday.

Caterham Cars is growing its sports-car lineup, fueled by new owner Tony Fernandes, according to the Web site of U.K. car magazine Autocar. Fernandes's Team Lotus Enterprise, which owns the Team Lotus Formula One team, also plans to introduce the existing Caterham Seven and SP.300/R models to new markets.

What purportedly is a 2015 Ford Mustang mule was caught testing in the daylight by spy photographers. Hooniverse has the photos here. The photos show a current-generation Mustang with what looks to be a new center stack and an independent rear suspension setup.
