1910's-20's Vintage Car Truck Column Mounted Vacuum Gauge Rat Rod, Motorcycle on 2040-parts.com
Vacaville, California, United States
Not exactly sure what I have here but it looks like it was a Manifold Vacuum Gauge that mounted on the steering column of an old car or possibly a truck due to the size. Housing has a diameter of 5 inches and the needle is still there but bent. Gauge face looks like it has 1-10 pounds, the words "performance" and "good" still legible. Clear covering that covers the face appeared to be a type of plastic, not glass as I would suspect if the gauge is as old as I think. Has a ball-socket mount holding the gauge as it locks around a column. Gauge is heavy and appears really well made but the rear domed part (cup) of the gauge appears to be made of a phenolic or bakeolite material and has some cracks.
I doubt gauge is worth restoring but it would look great on a Rat Rod holding a tachometer or on an old motorcycle holding a speedometer or other gauge. |

Jaguar C-X75 Concept Photo Gallery
Wed, 29 Sep 2010Jaguar C-X75 Tonight in Paris Jaguar has revealed the C-X75 Concept, a car so glorious and innovative it could very well have stolen the Paris Motor Show even before it officially starts. Not designed to be a production car – but if they don’t do something close to it they should be shot – the Jaguar C-X75 offers what could be considered the ultimate range-extender hybrid. With a pair of mini gas turbines charging a bank of plug-in Li-Ion batteries which in turn power a quartet of electric motors, the C-X75 produces a massive 780bhp, offers a 0-60mph of just over 3 seconds and a top speed of over 200mph.
Hyundai unveils sketch of next Sonata
Wed, 02 Sep 2009Drawings show that Hyundai's approach to the Sonata design has been completely rethought. Based on the drawings, the 2011 Sonata will have a fluid look, accented with a sharp crease in the side sheetmetal that flows upward, stretching from the front door to the rear of the car, ending on the trunk lid. The thin C-pillar creates a coupelike appearance.
