Top Gear Russia outs the 2014 Mazda3 Saloon – probably not coming to the UK
Thu, 04 Jul 2013The 2014 Mazda3 saloon (pictured) has been outed by Top Gear The UK and Europe have eschewed small saloon cars for hatchbacks in recent years. But in other parts of the world its the small saloon that’s big news, so many will be interested in the new Mazda3 saloon, revealed by Top Gear in Russia ahead of an official debut. Looking exactly like the new 2014 Mazda3 hatch revealed last week (there’s a shock), Mazda has managed to make the translation from hatch to saloon seamless, with proper flowing lines and no sense of a ‘notch’ grafted on the back.
Bentley Continental GTC V8 Convertible at Geneva
Mon, 05 Mar 2012Bentley Continental GTC V8 - Geneva debut The convertible version of the V8-engined Continental GT has arrived in Geneva as the Bentley Continental GTC V8. The Detroit Motor Show at the end of last year saw the arrival of the Bentley Continental GT V8, but the Geneva Motor Show this week is the venue for its drop-top sibling with the debut of the Bentley Continental GTC V8, a car we spied as long ago as last summer. With the same 4.0 litre V8 the GT V8 gets, the new GTC V8 gives little away to its tin-top sibling, with 0-62mph coming up in 4.7 seconds (down 0.1 on the coupe) and top speed hitting 187mph (188mph for the coupe).
BMW M3 coupe stripped down to go club racing
Wed, 04 Nov 2009BMW's M division is back in the business of building specialty street-legal race cars with a new lightweight version of the M3 called the GTS. The lightweight coupe, set to go on sale in early 2010 at a yet-undisclosed price, was conceived as a limited-edition model primarily for club-based racing in much the same way that Porsche builds the 911 GT3 Clubsport. But in a clear effort to link its track-based activities with the production-car side of its business, BMW's M division is offering the new car with a homologation package that will allow customers to register the M3 GTS for street use.
